"go teach" our young people

the Sunday-school

The Sunday-school begins at 11am in Church when a short segment of the morning service is dedicated to the children and young people, and for about 15 minutes the Church Family worships God together, parents and children alike.

Thereafter, Pre-5s meet in the Bruce Memorial Hall, the small building adjacent to the Manse; P1s to P7s meet in the Church Hall, 100 yards down and across the road in the High Street.

Teaching Time

Parents and carers can collect their children from these halls at the conclusion of the Service, around 12.10pm.

For our Sunday-school teaching time we use teaching material called "Go Teach", and encourages each age group to "Come Learn"

Each age group is promised activities which are lively, interactive, and Bible-based. With words, pictures, music and activities, we try to help parents to teach the children to know God for themselves.

We hope to show, in practice as well as in teaching, a responsible and Christian way of daily living. Children bring home activity leaflets, and are encouraged them to finish them, with parents help if possible.

If you would like your child to be part of our Sunday-school, bring them along to the Church Service any Sunday morning.  You will be asked to complete a registration form for child protection purposes.  You can collect them from the appropriate Church Hall indicated above.  Or, why not just come along to our Service and wait for them.

From Time to Time

Every month, usually the second Sunday, we hold FAMILY SERVICES, in which the children and young people usually play some part. Parents are particularly welcome at these.

PARTIES are arranged occasionally, for those who regularly attend.

In June a PICNIC / TRIP is usually held to end the year followed by a BARBECUE on the Manse Lawn in the afternoon of the Closing Service.

A HOLIDAY CLUB takes place during one week of the school summer holidays.  This year's Club "The Potter Project - The Mystery of the Keys" takes place from Monday 13th till Friday 17th July.  Further details are available by clicking on the link above right.
