Opportunities for worship

Church Services take place every Sunday in Church at 11.am.  Usually they follow a familiar pattern, with participation by our  Church Choir, and various other members taking turns doing the scripture readings.  We use Mission Praise, we dip into CH4, as well as our normal church hymnary (CH3)  but can and do use more modern songs too.

We also have video projection facilities and use powerpoint presentations quite effectively within occasional services.

On the second Sunday of each month, usually, we have a Family Service at 11.ooam, this enables the whole church family to worship together for the whole time, rather than just 15 minutes at the beginning which would be our normal pattern.  This service is particularly geared for the whole age range of our congregation and can sometimes have a much more modern flavour.

Recently we have upgraded our sound system, and this has given us the opportunity to record Church Services.  These are available to borrow on CD, and can now be downloaded as mp3 files.  Just click on the Sermons Online button above right.

Also on the second Sunday of the month we have an Afternoon Service at 3.00pm.  This is particularly geared for the housebound and disabled, and takes place in the Bruce Memorial Hall.

Lasting for half-an-hour, the Service concludes with afternoon tea, provided by the church members.

Communion is celebrated four times a year, on the second Sunday of March, June, September and December.  In addition to our 11am service, and 3pm service on that day, we also have a 6.30pm Service held in the Bruce Memorial Hall.

In addition to our stated Communions, we also celebrate on Maundy Thursday, and an informal celebration of communion on the last Sunday of the year.

Launching in October will be our new 'cafe-church' style worship event called 'TnT'.  This will be held monthly in the Church Hall, and will feature some praise songs, have a coffee, tea, hot chocolate or juice, sitting round tables and listen to a visiting speaker with a special story to tell, as well as a spiritual message. There may also be time for discussion and interaction. For further details check out our dedicated page here.

Wednesday Prayers

Each Wednesday evening at 8.00pm the opportunity is given to meet for fellowship, a short bible study and prayer.  This meeting lasts approximately one hour and concludes with a 'cuppa'.  Everyone is welcome.  For further information on this gathering please click on the Wednesday Prayers button above right.

Baptisms, Weddings, and Funerals

These are the special times when many members of the community attend worship in the Church.  For details of these Services, please click on the appropriate link above right.
