The Revd Scott Raby, L.Th, was inducted as Minister of Clackmannan Church and Parish on 18th October 2007, with sixteen years of ministry experience behind him.  He was ordained by the Presbytery of Hamilton and inducted to Craigneuk and Belhaven Church, Wishaw, on 19th September 1991.  That parish was home to the now demolished Ravenscraig Steelworks.  Following twelve years there, he moved across the Presbytery of Hamilton to Old Monkland Church in Coatbridge, before coming to us four years later.

Scott was born in Dundee, but raised in Dunfermline where he attended Milesmark Primary and Queen Anne High Schools.  He became a Christian at the age of 15yrs as part of the Youth Fellowship of the North Parish Church in Dunfermline.

On leaving School, Scott joined the Royal Bank of Scotland, but left there a year later to go into the retail trade, with Fine Fare in St Leonards Street (now Asda), and the Co-op where he was depute-manager in their Rosyth and Abbeyview Supermarkets.

in 1981 Scott went to New College, Edinburgh, followed by two years in Trinity College Glasgow.  His probationery period took him to Angus, where he served in the former Ladyloan St. Columba's Church, Arbroath, and in Inchbrayock linked with Melville South Church, Montrose.

Scott is married to Cherie, Marie Curie Nursing Service Manager with Marie Curie Cancer Care in Forth Valley and Fife.  They met at an evening service in Mains of Fintry Church Dundee while Scott was in Arbroath. The minister of Mains of Fintry at the time  had been involved with the Youth Fellowship in the North Parish.  Scott and Cherie married in  May 1990, and have two children, Rebekah, 15, and Stephen, 11.
