Monday to Friday 4th to 8th August 2008
Clackmannan Town Hall
Our first Holiday Club exceeded all expectations. Around 70 primary school children from Clackmannan and beyond gathered in Clackmannan Town Hall each evening to take part and learn about God's BIG plan for the world, using music, drama, games, crafts, quizzes and bible stories.
Our daily drama serial “The Virus Buster”, performed by teenagers from the Church’s Young Church group was a big hit, especially when 'Logoff' the baddie was splatted with cream pies. There were jokes a-plenty; games, including “The Pogo Challenge”, a series of messy games using water, shaving foam, food colouring, custard, and rice krispies added to the fun. Team games and Arts and Craft sessions backed up the theme of the week which was based on a computer game, with each day being portrayed as a different level. Day 1 saw us in the Garden of Eden, day 2 took place on Mount Sinai, watching Moses with the Ten Commandments. The third day we witnessed the events of the crucifixion, followed on the next day by Jesus' appearance to the disciples on the Emmaus road. On the Friday we were lifted to heaven as we were transported to the heavenly city of Revelation chapters 21 and 22. Our closing event was the MegaQuest Event held in the Church on Sunday 10th August which was enjoyed by all who attended. A good number of youngsters and their parents joined our normal congregation for a taste of the holiday club week. |
